As a retired professional programmer, I cannot recommend this book to beginners, or to programmers who want to learn Prolog. The casual style fails to cover the language, it's weak on examples and weak conceptually.

Poorly written and formatted. It mars the beautiful Prolog language. I learned to not trust Amazon rating because it's heavily affected by "reviewers" who got the ebook for free.

Inconsistent and hard to read.

Good book, overall. The real key to me is that this is a very small language. I kept looking for more than there really was. This book is a good deal for the Kindle, but the paper copy is a lot more than I think that the information is worth.

Ordered this book to help me understand Prolog. Its gives a basic overview of the topic, however the formatting I think messes up is kind of confusing (kindle version). In my opinion, the examples were kind of odd. But I guess that's what you get from a book that should take you a day to get through.

A lot of code in this book(read in kindle) cannot be displayed correctly.

Chapter 8 and 9 seem to be copied from another book, and the rest of the book is a summary of a self study session. It is a decent summary though, hence the extra two stars.

I feel like a prodigy in the Java programming world. This book has helped me quickly advance from novice to expert over the past week. It is good how intuitively the learning flow of this book is layed out. It progresses just as it should and helped me learn quickly. When it says success in a day it isn't lying.

Being a fan of OpTic Gaming for many years, it is really awesome to finally see their biggest members share their stories. Whether you are into video games or not, this book is a great read simply because it is not just about video games but it's also about their personal lives and how they have been changed by competitive gaming. I have learned a lot about these authors that I had never known before. While many might not think a book about eSports and video games would be interesting, there are a lot of struggles each of these people had to go through in order to become the successful organization that they are today.

I bought this book with every intention of reading it on my flight next week. Mistakenly, I figured, I'd read a little of the first chapter. Two hours later, I'm halfway done with entire book. It's well written and engaging. Must read if you're GREENWALL.

This was a book that gave me a vivid window into the personal experiences of people in the world of eSports. For me it was personally valuable because my child has been involved with eSports since high school. So the book helped me understand my son better.

What a great story. It helps that I'm a big fan of most of these guys. If they had out even more time into it, that would have been great. Still a must read for anyone that's heard of Optic Gaming. #GreenWall #T2P #GreenMachine #OG

Started watching Hecz vlogs. Really like this guys vlogs and his success with Optic so I wanted to read more. It's awesome. I also started in Call of duty 2 at 13 years old. Good book. Call of duty 2 I wouldn't say is the best game ever made. But it was the game I had the most fun with. It's definitely my favorite.

My husband knows the origin story of Optic but reading their story like this is special and made his Christmas. I'm really happy with the book because he is.

I loved the way they described the tournaments, how life was like being on YouTube, and how team optic were able to handle those stressful situations as told in the book.

Good look inside an up and coming 'sport' - I have newfound respect for this world that has evolved to much more than a 'video game'.

Allen C. Bowling, MD, PhD, is Physician Associate at the Colorado Neurological Institute (CNI). He is also Clinical Professor of Neurology at the University of Colorado. Dr. Bowling lectures extensively and is actively engaged in the ongoing clinical care of people with MS. Sometimes people with MS come across a neurologist willing to go outside the box, but often they are left to their own devices to try to find information that they can use in an informed, reasonable fashion. Dr. Allen Bowling, in his “Optimal Health with Multiple Sclerosis”, fills this void in a well written, thoroughly researched, thoughtfully framed book about ‘what else’ people with MS can do for their health. Chapter by chapter he reviews how to think about health with MS, provides a seven- step guide to optimal health in MS, and details important information about placebos and nocebos which may help people understand how difficult it is to study complementary and alternative medicines. The facts are clear, unbiased, and helpful for anyone with MS. Perhaps the best element of the book is the treatment by treatment in depth analysis of Aromatherapy to Yoga. Each segment goes into detail about what we know about the treatment, studies that have been done in MS, and a realistic assessment of risks and benefits of the treatment. My doctor recommended reading this book to get detailed information about current supplementary therapies for MS. Waste of my money. Bought because my ms specialist recommended. Not much great info in there. You can find more online from trusted informative sites for free. The few sections I really wanted it for and why my doctor suggested had very short chapters and no good info.

This is a great book for the professional or the patient seeking knowledge provided the have the base and capacity to understand what they are reading. I saw on the MS Association web site that they have this book in their lending library.

About the Author

Laban Carrick Hill is the author of more than thirty books, including the 2004 National Book Award Finalist Harlem Stomp!, a book he researched for nearly a decade, and America Dreaming, which examines the legacy of the 1960s. He has taught writing at Columbia University, Baruch College, and St. Michael's College and is currently teaching at the Solstice MFA in Creative Writing Program at Pine Manor College in Massachusetts. In an amazingly clear and concise 175 pages or so the history and influence of the Boomer generation is laid out for a young adult audience. Starting with the post-war population boom and suburban expansion, the book focuses on the various key elements and movements that brought about the most sweeping changes in the way America and Americans defined themselves, for better or worse, and how young adults were at the forefront.The opening chapter sets the stage as 1950's Americans flooded to the pre-fab development communities of Levittown, as television and rock-and-roll took the cultural stage, as the Cold War began to heat up. Then chapter by chapter another piece to the puzzle is added -- the race for space, the Kennedy Camelot including the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Beatles and psychedelia and free love, the Civil Rights Movement. All tried and true subjects, but what makes this fascinating are the chapters on the Black Power Movement (including the full text of the Black Panther Party's Ten-Point Plan), the Chicano and Native American movements, the radical anti-war protests (not just Kent State but the Weathermen), the feminists and, as the boomers reached the 1970's, the gay rights movement with a bit of coverage on the Stonewall riots. Hill doesn't shy away from messier topics like drugs or abortion rights, covering the material in an even-handed tone that gives readers a chance to draw their own conclusions and make their own connections.The chapters move in a mostly forward progression but thy also stand alone in examining their subjects. History isn't presented here as a liner parade of facts and dates and places, but as ideas shaped by time and place, growing organically out of what came before without the tidiness or need for perfect order. Chaotic times call for a different narrative. The book flows at it's own pace, to its internal rhythms. Readers might be surprised to learn just how politically and socially radical their parent's and grandparent's once were. If nothing more, the material gives plenty of ammunition for conversations about what things were like "back in the day."Presentation goes a long way. The book's larger size -- approximately 10 by 12 inches -- allow for large blocks of text to be accompanied by full-page images and sidebars filled with details and tidbits. Archival photos and period ephemera make this a triumph for the designers as well; the book feels fresh without veering into forced hipness, even if the subject matter is a few decades older than its intended audience. It also makes the book half as many pages as if presented as straight text, making it feel more accessible.My only quibble, and it is minor, is that the book really is more of a portrait of the boomer generation than a pure examination of the 1960's. At the end of the book there is a year-by-year summary of major events that starts in 1946 and ends at 1975, pretty much the formative years of the boomer generation. I doubt that anyone is really ready to present the boomers as a worthy subject of study for middle grade and young adult, but that's essentially what the 60's are about. That aside, this really is a fine introductory study for the third quarter of the 20th century.Now we need something exactly like this for the final quarter to explain how the gen-x generation brought us to where we are today.

America Dreaming is a great picture of the 60s for anyone. The layout is fabulous. The pictures, captions, and text (font, color and size)present each topic perfectly.I used this with middle school students who read carefully and completely. At times they mentioned they wished there was more information about a particular topic. Their discussions and responses showed an understanding of the subjects and times, and it led some to choose their research topics from the book.I wish there was more nonfiction for this age group that would engage students the way this book did.

The storyline was different and interesting. The cover was great but once the action started the dialogues became disjointed. The jokes , self mockery, and childish dialogues just made me cringe a few time. The southern twang and jokes just didn't work. I think if the story concentrated on normal language dialogue and less forceful humorous speaking the writing would have been better. The mc was immature and I couldn't connect with the characters.I felt cheated for paying for this book. This was DNF at 65%. Just couldn't continue with the mc female repetitive diatribe speaking. Wasted time and money for sure.

I liked this book a lot. There were a couple of times I almost lost interest but definitely made a come back and finished well. I don't like Jason Momoa (sorry, I know its crazy but ever since I saw a youtube video of him grabbing some underage girls boob he grosses me out), so when you compared the lead to him it was hard to get past, but that's just me. However, I loved, absolutely LOVED the female characters, including Jo. In the end, I got around the Momoa thing. I would have liked more steamy scenes but maybe this wasn't mean't to be read that way. But I loved the humor in this book and the world building!

I took a chance on a 4.99 read. The most I’ve ever spent on an ebook, besides a bestseller author. I was fascinated with a different than normal plot line. This was an enjoyable read and held my interest. However, I wouldn’t spend 4.99 for this book. The writing needs more character development, steam, and depth.

An interesting take on the relationships between different types of shifters. Opens up a whole new world of conflict and possible romance.

This book was well written and had great action in a story about the paranormal. The characters are great with lots of action. I recommend reading books written by Brandi Elledge.

Characters with enough depth that you care what happens to them, a kick ass heroine, and a really sweet troll. What more could you ask for?

I couldn't put the book down read it all in one sitting. Can't wait for book two!

I really enjoyed this book and looking forward to book 2 when released.
