Had to buy this book for a course I was taking, and it was awful. Painfully repetitive and they used far too many abbreviations, many of which were never explained. The online access is just as useless at the book itself. I'll be glad to be rid of this book when my course is over!

This book is difficult to read because it intertwines common sense, almost elementary, statements with out of date terms. Really not valuable for most nurses in today's high tech clinical practice settings.

This is a review of the Kindle version and it only relates to this textbook as it is applied to the Kindle format. I have not tried other textbooks in the kindle format.This is kindle textbook is basically unusable for my purposes. I am taking a class on Nursing Informatics that requires multiple APA format papers and here is my list of gripes:1. There are no page numbers. Need to cite what page you are referencing for your paper? Nope! Can't do it! All you have to go off of is the generic Kindle location which is essentially useless.2. It is not organized into chapters and there is no kindle-usable table of contents. How do you find chapter six? You have to literally search for it with the search function.3. The search feature will find what you are looking for, but it will put your search text in the upper left corner of your view. Not the whole sentence or paragraph, but only the search text. That means that half of the sentence that you are looking for is on the previous page. Want to see the whole sentence at once? X out of the search function but now you have to find the sentence somewhere on the page. This is beyond frustrating.4. Need to add a quote to your APA paper? There is no copy and paste! No, I'm not trying to plagiarize, I'm just trying to reference a source in APA format. Nope, because of DRM you have to hand type it.5. Read each chapter one paragraph at a time! Need to scan the book for relevant information? Nope! You can look manually by searching basically one paragraph at a time, or use the search function for key terms, but if your key terms are prevalent in the book, you'll have to sift through multiple results which is time consuming.6. Tables are cut off. You thought reading one or two paragraphs at a time was bad, try looking at half a table per page.If I could give this zero stars I would. This Kindle addition was beyond worthless and caused undue stress in my life. Because of this purchase I will not be buying any more textbooks in the Kindle format. Shame on amazon for releasing such a promising but useless product.

There are so many typos/formatting mistakes in the Kindle version it is very distracting and detracts from the content. You would think a book on informatics would not have so many mistakes. I purchased this to have while traveling so I could read required readings without lugging my book all over, but wish I had just stuck with the printed book...

Thought I would hate this book, but it is very readable, not boring and informative about informatics. I was a painless way to learn more about the subject and covers many aspects of technology related to the medical field, education and nurse informatics.

I rented this book for a class that lasted approximately 3 months. I just finished the class and there is no way I can return this book. This is frustrating and this has never happened before. I looked at the dates prior to renting so I would have plenty of time to return. Very disappointed!

This was for a required course. All I can say is that this book is sooo boring and dry. Of course this is subjective. We are forced to answer questions directly from this book, but I do not have an iota of interest in the subject matter so I am biased on my review. That being said, it does nothing to engage you as a reader.

I bought this book because I wanted to get into informatics. This book is painfully boring to the extreme. Very hard to understand--it gets obsessed with a supercilious expression of sentence structure rather than trying to communicate information. It says nurses are not very well educated when it comes to computer technology and all must get advanced degrees to be worth something. It was very repetitious as well. I read paragraphs over and over again, and I had not a clue what I read. If you have problems sleeping, read this book. I guarantee you it will cure you of your insomnia so in that respect it is outstanding. The author must have bent over backward to present such a dull and uninteresting book that my original intent to get into informatics was just destroyed. I decided not to get such a certificate.

Meghan Trainor is a very talented, clever songwriter and a very good singer. She also has an excellent sense of humor and I love her positive message. Some of her lyrics cracked me up. For you parents out there who may be concerned, there are a couple of cuss words, but the CD isn't loaded with them like a lot of others.

If you really liked All About that Bass, Dear Future Husband, and Lips are Movin', you will love the rest of this album. Out of the entire album, I didn't care for only one song. The songs are fun, bouncy and just all around enjoyable to listen and dance around to. Some of the lyrics are just laugh out loud funny too (WalkaShame). There are probably easily 5 more breakout songs on this album. There is a great ballad with John Legend too. Meghan has a 50's-60's pop vibe that is just great to listen to. A happy album all around!

This is my all-time fave line in all of Meghan's (we're on a first name basis already) songs. It's among so many other catchy lines in the "title" track of "Title."My next fave rhymes are in the final song "Credit," a cute song lamenting how she buffed up her boyfriend for the next girl who won't know what she owes her:"I had him brushing' his teeth, even flossin',Got him lookin' like Ryan Gosling."I don't believe you'll ever hear flossing and Ryan Gosling in another song!!I can't stop listening to this CD. I am 2 1/2 times older than she is and I'm hooked! She wrote all these songs!! Jeez, how does a 21 yo dredge up such utter talent? From the placement of the accent notes, to the perfect throb in her voice, to the doo-wop sounds and on to rap and ballads. Her range of lyrics and musicality is really stunning. Move over Taylor...Trainor is gaining on you.Meghan wrote each of these songs, usually co-authored with Keven Kadish and she is the executive producer of this, her premier album.I have very eclectic tastes in music from the Beatles to the blues to classical and this has zoomed to my #1 album among my hundreds of CD's. Whenever I come to the final song, "Credit," a very clever song about her ex's next girlfriend owing her flowers for buffing him up into such a catch, I get sad when the music stops so I have to set it to repeat the album in a loop.Irresistible.

The album is great, highly recommend. Very catchy songs that'll be playing in your head throughout the day.I personally bought it on vinyl and it shows that it was built to the lowest bidder. The edge of the vinyl is missing a small chunk out of it, thankfully that didn't affect playback and the sleeve already was torn along one of the seams. Other than that, I find it pretty common for new vinyls to be dirty and need a cleaning before playback but this one had white flakes stuck on it, only one I haven't managed to get off yet, been perplexed on it's removal since you can't really do anything abrasive to the vinyl's surface. It only creates a small skip for about 3-4 revolutions during playback.

Personally, I am fond of bass, but I do appreciate treble as well. I think it's a matter of balance -- well, that's neither here nor there. This is a nearly-perfect pop album; I can't think of a track I don't like. I don't love all pop, but when I hear this music, I just want to get up and dance, and it doesn't really matter where I am at the time, which can be a problem.I purchased the white-colored vinyl edition of this album, so for all you audiophiles and vinyl heads (is that a term?), here it goes: Thankfully, the record did not stick to the inner sleeve, which too often happens. It's a color inner sleeve, by the way. It comes with a digital download card, so that's good, and it also comes with a poster. The poster is nice, I guess, but I will not be putting it on my wall (at least not today -- we'll see about tomorrow). Upon spinning, I noticed a small warp, taking my stylus for a little ride, but this is nothing that hurt it, and honestly it looked kinda fun for the stylus. The record was relatively quiet (a little woosh in between tracks but quiet during tracks, even the quiet parts), and the music was very clear. Very nice quality. No complaints.

What a fun album! There is a hardly a trick from the 50s bag of song crafting that Meghan and her production team do not draw upon. There are so many familiar sounding backing tracks, but they are polished up with a modern beats and current lyrics. The result is music that sounds deeply familiar and fresh at the same time. The album spawned two big radio hits, "All About That Bass" and "Lips are Movin," but there is no shortage of other enjoyable tracks on this album. From warm ballads like "Like I'm Gonna Lose You, " which features a great guest spot from John Legend, to bouncy pop tracks like "Title," this album is worth a listen. The music is fun, and Meghan's voice is more agile than I expected it to be. It will be exciting to see where she goes from here.

This product is the full "Kit 1," "11 e" for "Lessons 1 - 60" for "GDP/11" and it includes the Textbook, Student Word Manual, Software Registration Card (Access Code for on-line assignments), and an Easel (to prop your book on). I bought this product as "New" and "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com," because I did not want to risk not getting a good access code. I received a brand new, shrink-wrapped "Kit 1," so the access code worked perfectly! If I need an access code, I only buy products that are listed as "New" and "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com," because it is not worth the risk of getting a code which has already been used. I got this for just over $108, but at my school's bookstore it would have cost me over $160, so this is a great value, and is the exact same kit my bookstore was selling. I only wish Amazon.com had done a better job with the description, which is why I give this a four star review. I assumed it was the complete, new kit, but it did not say anything about the Access Code or Easel on Amazon's description, so I was not sure. Also, it would have been nice to have a better title, and more pictures. There seem to be a lot of listings on Amazon for this type of package, but it was difficult to tell which was the correct one I needed. ISBN 978-0-07-746760-9 and Part of ISBN is 978-0-07-735660-6, whatever that means. There are also two MHID #'s next to the ISBN's.

I was very reluctant on buying this kit for my college keyboarding class because I was worried that it wouldn't have all the things I needed. After reading what seemed like a million reviews I just went for it. This kit does come with the software registration card, the main textbook you will need to do your lessons, a student word manual, and a cardboard easel to put your text book on while you type. This kit is for lessons 1-60. It had everything I needed for my college class and it was A LOT cheaper. I saved about $80 buying it off amazon instead of through my bookstore. The program itself is very good. It explains things well and is easy to follow. So I recommend you buy this if you are going to college and don't want to spend a lot of money.

I rented this textbook and it was a used one that I received. The textbook itself is fine and there was some writing in it but nothing bothersome. The textbook didn't come with an access code so beware of that rental textbooks does not always come with access code. I had to buy an access code separately through the publisher for $72 in order to do the assignments. But still, the rental cost + the access code fee is still cheaper than buying the book. But if you need it for more than one semester than it may be cheaper to buy it.

I took a chance in ordering this text book I needed for college class, as I knew I needed the online access code to GDP11. The product description mentions GDP11, but does not explicitly say it includes online access code needed. However, as it was much cheaper on Amazon than at my school book store, I gave it a shot figuring I could buy the online access, and it would still be cheaper. It DID NOT come with the online access code, and is only the spiral bound Lesson 1-60 book( I choose spiral option as it is cheaper). If you need any other items that may come packaged with this item through a bookstore, this is not it.

I learned to type using these manual.

I purchased this thinking i was buying just the access code because the format specificslly says "access code", only to receive the textbooks instead which i had already purchased & received separately. Very disappointed in the product description and overall experience. Buyer beware

I like the little cardboard stand you get for the book. It has easy to understand instructions and the assignments and tests are easy. You just have to practice. Speed and accuracy. I like that the mock business letters you have to type up are just like the ones you would be typing if this was your actual field of study like it is mine. I get a heads-up of things to come.

The advertisement stated that the book was new and had a code, upon receiving the book which was in perfect condition, the code was invalid. If I had know I was going to have to purchase a code I could have bought the book at a much cheaper price. I will never order from this company again.

Now before I start going chit-chat, Arturs Nate's archenamy (however you spell it.). So Nate basically hates (or dislikes, however you put it.) Arthur. So then he heads home and Francis comes with him (Artur was offering rides home, but Francis said no thanks.). Then Nate finds out they are doing a fundraiser with warm fuzzies (no idea what they are. Who cares anyway.). 4, Nate wants to know the prizes, but Francis has a guitar lesson. So then he has to go. But he says they are on the back of the buchore (whatever.). So then there is third. It is a robot that plays songs. Nah. Second. A telescope. No thanks. But then the GRAND prize. A make-your-own skateboard. Then Nate gets fired up. He wants to win that skateboard. So then he says he'll convince people to buy them. I could go on and on, but I don't want to spoil EVERYTHING. As a general rule, I pooh-pooh "graphic" novels. To me, that's a euphemism for comics (Archie, anyone?) and really, all kids should be reading LITERATURE!!! Enter in one of my twin boys. He's a "reluctant reader" who took to Nate. He begged me to read Nate. Months of procrastination later, I picked on up and was surprised to find that I thought the books were honestly funny and, so long as the parent discusses with the child the meaning of sarcasm, irony and sardonic wit (and how that's all great in a book but NOT GOOD in real life) then the books are not only harmless, but a solidly constructive step towards reading "real" books. I know, readers of my review will be appalled at my literary snobbery. What can I say. I am a wanna-be erudite.So, for "reluctant" readers, especially boys, this would be a relatively benign choice (v. Wimpy Kid which I don't like as much). For any other child, this is a reasonable addition as a funny alternative to literature. These would be good on a family vacation when everyone relaxes with a book in the afternoon. I would say target age is from 7-10ish. My boys are 8 and 10 and loved them.

Grandson who is 9 loves these books. Move over iPad! He can’t put them down!

Our seven year old is obsessed with this series. He spends his allowance money on them. He received four more for Christmas, and is receiving a reading award in his class next week. He will ask to go to bed 30 minutes early just so he can read. Needless to say, we are extremely pleased.

My 9 year old LOVES the Big Nate books & now collects them! I'm excited that he comes home from school and wants to read instead of play video games & will continue to order these books for him! They even have these in the school library as approved reading material for his age & grade, so I I know they're GOOD books!

This book series is awesome! My 10 yr old son loves them. The story is entertaining and he loves the comics in the book! I will be buying more of this series. Great read for young readers!

Let me start by saying that if you already know a bit about climate change, and follow the recent news, this book is not really for you. This is more for the non-scientist that wants to know more, or the skeptic that is willing to open his mind.The book covers all of the known research and information is a clear and concise manner. It is easily readable, and covers everything from why the earth is warming to what possible solutions exist that are practical. It also debunks the deniers and the information they use to try to confuse the issue. If you have doubts about climate science or global warming, this is an excellent book to read.I highly recommend his book for those who are on the fence or who are willing to open their minds to new information. It might even be good for the member of the House of Representatives I heard recently say that he didn't believe climate science because they couldn't explain away past warming spells. Maybe I should send him this book!

Great to hear the considered wisdom of one of the world's leading climate scientists, Michael Mann who has faced intimidation and death threats for speaking the truth. This shows how climate science threatens the very basis of our lives. Mann writes really well for both scientists and the public.I was looking forward to the cartoons in this book, but there weren't as many as I had hoped, and although they were poignant they were still a little disappointing.

The authors did an excellent job of documenting climate change and the many faces of climate denial. They really put the issue into perspective: It is a matter of survival of our planet, not a partisan debate. They also discuss the impact of the Trump administration to undermine climate change policies. If we could get science to prevail and join the rest of the world, we would have some chance of saving our way of life. I am 79 so will not impact me, but my grandkids. Wow

I personally really liked this book. The text is clear and concise and the cartoons are humorous. My only real complaint is that it shows a bit too much political biases and I was looking for a book to give to my conservative friend who does not believe the science of climate change has been decided. With the current political climate (if you'll forgive the pun) it seems impossible to speak on climate change without a political bias and this book comes close. But I think some comments could have been omitted, such as praising Obama's use of executive action in general. But with that in mind, Mann also does a good job of pointing out that this was not always a partisan issue and gives many examples of Republicans who still agree with that.I definitely recommend this book to anyone curious about climate change and the history of its policy or lack thereof.

Sadly dated as it was published before Trump was elected. But the basics of climate crisis and action required are sound. Depressing to see how politics is not answering the call but refreshing to see that business, largely, is.

I have read about 15 books on climate change and this book covered all aspects very well. Everyone should read this book to understand what is happening and how to fix it.

Michael Mann knows his subject and how to make the research easy to grasp for everyone. The authors show us what is happening with climate change, how climate change deniers respond, and the ways you can respond to the deniers. One of the best books I have read on the climate debate.

Informative and compelling. Following the money is so important to see influence we wouldn't otherwise see. I so appreciate scientists like Michael Mann who speak out and go to great lengths to convey the distilled learnings from data so we may all take action and make better decisions, because there is no planet B.

I seldom write book reviews (not for a lack of reading, typically it's a lack of time) but sometimes you read a book and you can't put it down. This is such a book. Those who frequent gaming sites such as board game geek or read Jamey's blogs know that he is committed to quality in every facet of how he runs his business (Stonemaier Games). His unique board games have terrific production value and have had notable success (his game Viticulture is releasing an essential edition in November and he has another Kickstarter campaign set to begin this October). He's someone who puts the needs of his backers (and even non-backers) above his own.In his book, Jamey stresses that taking the time to build up your community (by being a positive, contributing member) and genuinely connecting with your supporters to establish trust can greatly increase your chances of having a successful crowdfunding campaign. Such venues are remarkable because in many of the campaigns, the backers contribute both financially and creatively. In A Crowdfunder's Strategy Guide, Jamey discusses that no matter how great of a product you think you might have, it is the people that support it that make it truly great. By putting every single backer first, you establish trust that can keep those backers interested in your future endeavors. For example, his company has a 30-day return policy on Kickstarter products and not surprisingly, very few have ever acted on it which a testament to their exceptional quality.Furthermore, the book discusses many of the logistical pitfalls (such as international shipping or manufacturing issues) or scarcity tactics (the dreaded early bird pledges) that can doom (or severely hinder) an otherwise good campaign. It cites numerous Kickstarter campaigns and their results, as well as some of the creative ways creators appreciated their backers.This guide was a delight to read and I encourage anyone who finishes it to continue their research by delving into the numerous blogs he has posted at his website kickstarterlessons. It is completely free to read and has a wealth of information. Highly recommended!

I appreciate that Jamey Stegmaier is a concise and clear writer. This book is one of the rare few that walks a delicate line between "beginner" and "advanced" - the content is accessible, even to a newbie in the crowdfunding world, but also has enough rich insight and detail to be a valuable read for someone with a lot of experience already.Jamey's stories are entertaining and also illustrate in concrete ways how seemingly small choices in crowdfunding implementation, can make a very big difference to the success (or failure), of your campaign. Some of his lessons learned have been painful ones, and some of his ideas are counter-intuitive, but when I understood his logic, it changed my view completely.There are some curious choices from an organization perspective (the organization of the book, I mean), but overall I found it a good read, chock full of important ideas that were followed with evidence to back them up.I am already recommending this book to several friends, and I am keeping it by my side while I create my product and design my strategy for going to a crowdfunding platform.

Very good practical advice on how to run a KickStarter campaign from somebody who has done several (and since sworn off using KS as his business and reputation is well established). My guess is the typical KS Creator will find a lot of this to be too much bother, and for the guy just trying to make a quick buck it probably is. Stegmaier had a vision beyond his individual projects and put in the time and effort to build a real business. All of which makes this a useful read for the KS Backer, if the project you are considering doesn't sound much like what Stegmaier recommends, why not? Maybe it isn't all that good a deal?

I started backing Stonemaier Games projects with Euphoria, so I've had a chance to watch Jamey Stegmaier at work on several Kickstarter projects, and have always enjoyed reading his updates and blog posts. This book goes back to the very beginning, and discusses issues important to anyone who is interested in breaking into the crowdfunding game. Even though all of his projects have been games or game components, this book should be required reading for anyone about to embark on a Kickstarter or Indiegogo campaign, whether it's for a game or for a new style of can opener. There will be something you learn in this book that will be worth more than the price of admission, I assure you!

I read this so I could speak compassionately with someone going through a divorce should the need arise, and wow, there is so much good advice in here! I would even give this to those not going through a divorce but are in a loveless marriage where the husband is emotionally gone, even if there are no plans for divorce. This has what such wives need to hear. Great stuff! Also great are the recommended resources in the back of the book.

I gave it 1 star because the system required a star before I could submit, otherwise, I wouldn't have given it even one star. Someone close to me was going through a divorce and I thought this book would be a help for her. I saved it for a certain time, and didn't realize I was past the return date. I opened the book before passing it on and was so disappointed. The book pages were published backwards. The title page was actually the last page in the book and the appendix was the first page. Not only that, they were facing the wrong direction. In order to read the book, you have to start at the back and make sure you turn the pages in the correct order (according to how it was put together, not how the author intended). This was such a disappointment. I wanted to help the person, not confuse her. Needless to say, since I missed the return date, I wasted the money. Publishers should do a better job before they ship out the books. I probably won't buy anything more from this author or publisher because I don't want to waste money again.

I am in the process of a separation and wanted to read some books about written by women who have actually been where I am today. My husband walked out unexpectedly. This was a great read and encouraging to get my mind off my life at the moment. I really will refer back to this many times during this trial. I would recommend to any woman going through a separation or divorce. Good luck!

Love this book! The author is definitely a down-to-earth Christian woman. She focuses on you growing through the journey of a painful divorce. She is practical while supplying sound Godly counsel. She is transparent and makes you feel like you are definitely chatting with your girlfriend. Loved this book! Easy read...only took a few days. Page-turner.

Wonderful book written in a clear, concise and empathetic style. Covers so many issues in a friendly, caring way. This author has vaulted to the top of my list in the venue. If you are in the midst of, friends with someone, or as in my case, the mother of a child going through a divorce, please read this! The Christian viewpoint was so helpful.

Going through a divorce is hard! I'm currently going through one now... I'm so glad I found this book! I honestly couldn't put it down. The writer really does speak the truth, just like a close friend would. She doesn't sugarcoat or pussyfoot around sensitive subjects. She gives great, biblically founded advice!

Thank you Suzanne, when I read this book it was like having a good christian girlfriend at my side. Thank you for being honest about this painful subject! Great reminders about scripture and Gods love. I am comforted at not being alone.

This book has helped me in so many ways. At one point, I felt myself becoming even more bitter about my situation and my soon to be ex-husband. However no sooner did I realize it, I came to chapter 11, a chapter about forgiveness. Those pages did a number on me. I did a lot of highlighting and notewriting in my book. It's really beat up which only goes to show how much I used it.
